How Stamped Concrete Works
Stamped concrete starts as a normal pour. We prep the subgrade, set forms, place rebar, and pour the slab just like any other job. The difference happens during finishing.
While the concrete is still workable, we broadcast color hardener across the surface. This adds color and strengthens the top layer. Then we apply a release agent — either powder or liquid — that prevents the stamps from sticking and adds a secondary color for depth.
We press rubber stamps into the surface to create the pattern. Timing is everything. Stamp too early and the pattern won't hold. Stamp too late and you can't get clean impressions. Our crews know the window and work fast to get consistent results across the entire slab.
After the concrete cures, we wash off the excess release agent and apply a clear acrylic sealer. The sealer locks in the color, adds a slight sheen, and protects the surface from UV and moisture.
